Supreme Commander 2 Demo

Dont know if anyone else has bothered downloading the demo yet but having grbbed it and had a bash today, it left me rather underwhelmed.

None of the epic feeling of the last outing, very cartoon like and un-realistic in feel, and the voice acting frankly belonged in an episode of a childrens television series.

Just wondering if anyone else has tried this yet in the hope tat I am wrong as I loved the last version and especially enjoyed forged alliance.

Sadly the demo left me with the same opinion as you. Plus I am loathing the tech trees.

well, its winging its way to me from play.com now (mainly because i forgot that i'd ordered it months ago. saw the 'order posted' from play today and thought 'huh. thats a bit early for chaos rising or ff13, wonder which one it is' read it and thought 'oh. right. hm. suppose i'll play that instead then.') so will see how it plays in non-demo format. hopefully better!

does this require steam or is it standalone as well?

I've been having a wierd problem with steam the last couple of months with the video, i think my codec's are screwed and although the demo plays fine as soon as one of the commanders comes on to jeer at you the game turns into a slide show (audio's fine) and the intro is obveously stuffed too. People are blaming bink but none of the fixes out there seem to work for me.

Guys, I played the demo and still bought the game. The demo is fairly crap imho, while the game is pure fun. I've also played SC and SCFA, and well, SC2 is a different breed, but fairly fun to play.

And yeah it requires Steam, even though you buy the disc (as I did).

I can recommend this game. If anyone plays, please add me as a friend on Steam.
